New A Valley Without Wind Footage

Earlier this year Rock, Paper, Shotgun did a feature on Arcen Games’ newest endeavor, entitled A Valley Without Wind. The team got quite a bit of negative feedback in regards to the art direction and the perspective of the game, of which I must say included myself. I’ve expressed control concerns to the guys of Arcen, but without having played a build, I really can’t make any judgements on how well the game handles and whether or not the perspective is something you’ll be able to get used to or if it will hinder gameplay.

That being said, the entire build discussed in the Rock, Paper Shotgun article was early pre-alpha. That is still the case with the following footage, but if you look at earlier footage than what’s included in this video, you’ll see tons of improvements. Most notably for me the improvements seem to be actual trees, instead of glossy tree hints. While I’m not a huge fan of the maintained perspective, the more I watch these update videos the more I become interested in what AVWW will offer in terms of a survival RPG, one of my favorite genres as of late. Check out the video and tell us what you think of the changes.
