Magicka Release Set For Jan. 25th

Are you ready to put on your robe and wizard hat? I’ve been following the development of Magicka since early last year and despite a few setbacks, developer Arrowhead Games and publisher Paradox Interactive have finally set a street date for Magicka, which is January 25th for online release. That’s in two days. For those who prefer retail packages (why?), you can nab Magicka in the EU/US on February 15th. The game features plenty of tongue-in-cheek humor and allows you to play with four friends cooperatively (or play by yourself if you’re the hermit type!), thus burninating the world with magic in three different gameplay modes including adventure, challenge, and versus.

With eight elements and four different ways to fling spells of said elements, Magicka looks like it’s shaping up to be your medieval Left 4 Dead/Borderlands style gameplay. Check out these screenshots and the following video to see more of Magicka in action.
