Ms. Splosion Man Announced

You’ve sploded by yourself. You’ve sploded with friends. But you’ve never sploded… with a bow. Twisted Pixel is here to fix that glaring oversight with their Ms. Splosion Man reveal early this morning via GameTrailers TV. Comic Jumper was an interesting game, but the controls were a little wonky and while I didn’t get as riled up over the misogynistic Golden Age like some people, some of the jokes were really lacking in taste. For this reason, I’m happy to see Twisted Pixel returning to their roots  in full Pac-Man spin-off style, offering up new and exciting sploding opportunities in the form of the other gender.

Speaking with Joystiq, Twisted Pixel CCO Josh Bear said, “We could have churned out new levels [for Splosion Man], but we wouldn’t have had the time to add in new gameplay puzzles or cool new character stuff. But we didn’t just want to do Splosion Man 2, it had to be something a little more interesting. That is why we decided to do MSM.”

I’m rather excited about this, since Splosion Man was released in the Summer of Arcade 2009, it has been one of the most frustrating but equally addicting platformers I have ever had the pleasure to play. The real gem of the game is not the single player game, but the multiplayer that allows up to four people to splode in perfect harmony, inducing rage quits across the board. Hopefully Ms. Splosion Man will feature much of the same when it releases in Fall of 2011.
