Weekly Deals: July 23, 2010

While we work out the remaining kinks in this decidedly meaty (and increasingly late..) episode of 2 Girls 1 Game, neither one of us wishes to leave you high and dry, nor alone in the dark. We’ve discussed a variety of solutions as to how we can keep in touch with you the listeners, in between episodes and on a weekly basis. Let’s face facts here; there is so much content to cover!
We entertained the possibility of a weekly newsletter of which you could opt in or out, and Overlord Ror even drew up a template for it. (It looked awesome, by the way.) But it just seems like a more viable solution to offer you a newsletter right here on the site, because we love the site, and we hope to spread that love to you! We thought it would be neat to be able to show you all the awesome indie deals we come across each week, without taking up precious airtime with it, as that makes the episodes a bit more palatable down the road, months or even years after these deals have come and gone.
So without further ado, we bring you the first of what is anticipated to be a weekly installment of indie deals and releases!
Cipher Prime Moving Sale
To celebrate getting their brand new office and moving up in the world, the boys over at Cipher Prime are offering their collection of great games for $4.99 a piece. Fractal and Auditorium are both worth the price, so go help ‘em out! Both also have extensive demos on their respective sites, so take a moment to try before you buy. You’ll definitely want to buy!
Jolly Rover “Jolly Christmas in July” Discount
Jolly Rover is now one month old, and to celebrate, Brawsome has sent a 50% discount code toward the purchase of Jolly Rover to anyone either following the game on Facebook or Twitter, or subscribers to its newsletter. The code is valid until midnight on Sunday July 25, and there is no limit to the amount of copies that can be purchased. So, if Jolly Rover looked appealing to you, but you weren’t quite willing to dish out $20 for it, feel free to head on over to Brawsome’s site and purchase your $10 copy of Jolly Rover, using the following code: BOSN000LS
New Digital Distribution Releases
Indie games that have the fortune of being released on a digital platform such as Steam or GamersGate see pretty widespread success. Here’s what you can expect from the latest digital services.
Limbo has finally arrived on XBLA, as of July 21st, and you can get your hands on this gorgeous puzzle platformer for 1200 MS Points.
Steam, as usual, has a strong indie offering this week, primarily in the form of puzzlers. Check out these new releases, each going for just under $10:
Puzzle Agent – $9.99
Razor2: Hidden Skies – $9.99
Rhythm Zone – $9.99 ($8.99 for release)
Tidalis - $9.99
Turba – $9.99
Lead & Gold Free Weekend
Also, as a special treat, a previous One Game Pick, Fatshark’s Lead & Gold is having a free play weekend, right now and through July 25th. To make this an even more awesome deal, the game is 50% off during this time, bringing it down to an unbeatable $7.49. There’s really no excuse for you not to own this team-based Wild West shooter, so what are you waiting for? Well, finish reading these deals first, and then go play!
GamersGate is having a phenomenal sale on several awesome indies, valid until July 25th. These are all at least 50% off their usual prices, putting most of them at less than $5.00:
Clover: A Curious Tale – $4.97
Emberwind – $4.78 (also for Mac)
The Lunar Pack (Wake and Lunnye Devitsy) – $3.79
Max and the Magic Marker – $4.97
Saira – $4.97
Trine – $6.78
We hope you take advantage and make some great game purchases, and keep in mind there will be more awesome deals, just around the corner. Speaking of things that are just around the corner, stay tuned and bear with us, as our next few episodes are completely filled to the gills with content (and maybe even a few awesome surprises), so much that we’re keeping these deals separate!
