The fact that this one has its scoring and log system--plus the achievements, if you get it on Steam--makes it worth its price tag, to me. I highly enjoyed it, and I enjoy adventure games in general, but I generally wouldn't put more than maybe $10 down on one, considering how little replay value they have.

If you're a fan of Monkey Island and groaner puns, I think this would be $20 well spent. The lead character is a pleasure to assist, the voicework is superb, and the whole thing felt very well-presented to me.

The only other adventure game in recent memory that I would wholly recommend at a $20 price tag is Machinarium, and that's saying a lot, if you've heard me gush about Machinarium in the past. For the quality of what you're getting, not to mention supporting the indie devs themselves, $20 seems to be the right price for games of this caliber.
